"Through misery and pleasure,
We wandered hand in hand;
And now we take our leisure,
Above the tranquil land"
Joseph von Eichendorff
Three dancers pose immediate behind one another, the first dressing in brown kneels, behind him a dancer stands with her arms raised, similarly the dancer behind her but he is taller
Dressed in red, a dancer leaps high against an orange sunset
Two dancers, wearing umber and orange respectively, lean forward, one helping to balance the other as she stands arabeasque
Three couple, one in lilac, one in yellow, one in green, strike identical poses where one partner stands straight holding the other as she hold one arm above her and both legs behind.

Four Last Songs is a contemporary classic by Dutch Choreographer Rudi van Dantzig, exploring love, loss, life and the human experience.

Created in 1977, Three Short Ballets will mark the first time the piece has been performed in the UK in over 10 years.

Expect dramatic jumps, intimate lifts and fleet-footed movement performed to perfection.

One dancer lifts another by the waist above his head, she holds her arms and legs stretched away from her body
Dancer in long skirt stands arabesque developpe
Two dancers in rehearsal, one surdy on his feet and the other leaning body against him whilst en pointe
Dancer in rehearsal in red leggings and black T-Shirt standing proudly arabesque
Two dancers in rehearsal on the floor, both kneeling, one resting on the body of the other as he leans back
Sonja Marchiolli demonstrates the emotion and movement the dancers should strive for during Four Last Songs
Two dancers stand with their bodies facing the camera, one behind the other, both looking up, leaning slightly back with an arm raised
Dancer smiling and laughing sat on the shoulder of another dancer, keeping her hands to her chest and balancing with one leg stretched forward
