Harriet was born in Rochford, Essex and raised in Bournemouth. She trained at the Jo Heynes Performing Arts School in Bournemouth and at Central School of Ballet before joining the Academy of Northern Ballet's Graduate Professional Programme. She joined Northern Ballet in 2015.

Where were you born and raised?
I was born in Rochford, Essex and raised in Bournemouth.
At what age did you start dancing?
I was three when I started dancing.
Where did you train?
I trained at Jo Heynes Performing Arts School in Bournemouth. I then moved to London to further my training at Central School of Ballet and upon graduation I joined the Academy of Northern Ballet's Graduate Professional Programme.
Which Northern Ballet roles would you most like to dance?
There are many Northern Ballet productions that I would love to be a part of such as Wuthering Heights and The Great Gatsby.
Career/training highlights
Performing with Ballet Central, being involved with some Northern Ballet productions whilst on the Academy of Northern Ballet's Professional Graduate Programme and furthermore being accepted into the Company.
What do you like most about being a dancer?
Definitely performing on stage, that's what we trained for! I also enjoy touring, seeing sights and visiting new places you've never been to before.
If you could adapt one work into a ballet what would it be?
The Nightmare before Christmas. I think it has every element a ballet requires.
What is your favourite book?
Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen is an old favourite but I'm currently reading Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl which is great so far!
What is your favourite post-show meal?
Mashed up avocado on toast with a boiled egg is amazing! Plus it's quick and easy!
How do you like to relax?
Being from Bournemouth I love spending time on the beach but nothing beats spending quality time with friends and family.
If you weren’t a dancer what would you be?
I think if I didn't dance I would love to train to become a vet.
