Clare Croft

Clare Croft is a dance theorist and historian, as well as dramaturg and curator.

She is the author of Jill Johnston in Motion: Dance, Writing, and Lesbian Life and the editor The Essential Jill Johnston Reader (Duke University Press, 2024), and the editor and curator of the book and website Queer Dance: Meanings and Makings. She regularly dramaturgs for Thomas DeFrantz and Jennifer Harge, among others. She is Associate Professor of American Culture at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
